Melody Herring, M.Ed., LDT, CALT-QI, RPED

Melody Herring is the Founder and Executive Director of R.E.A.D. Evaluation and Dyslexia Center in McKinney, TX, where she conducts psychoeducational evaluations for specific learning disabilities, specializing in, but not limited to, dyslexia and related disorders. She offers professional development and training on identifying dyslexia, including a deeper understanding of the data that suggest the need to consider dyslexia, the test instruments that specifically evaluate its core features, and the decision-making process within the context of a comprehensive evaluation.

Melody has worked in public and private education for over 25 years, serving as a special education and general education teacher, an elementary and middle school campus administrator, a dyslexia therapist, and an educational diagnostician. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Educational Administration degrees from Texas Woman’s University. She completed the credentialing and certification requirements as an Educational Diagnostician through Midwestern State University and is a Registered Professional Educational Diagnostician (RPED) through Texas Professional Educational Diagnosticians, as well as a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT) in Texas.

Melody is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and a Qualified Instructor (QI) through the Academic Language Therapy Association. She is also a Certified Structured Language Therapist (CSLT) and MSLE Instructor of Therapy through an accredited International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) training center. As a CALT/CSLT, Melody is trained to provide diagnostic, explicit, systematic, multisensory, structured language interventions that build a high degree of accuracy, knowledge, and independence in students with written language disorders, including dyslexia. As a QI and MSLE Instructor of Therapy, she has earned the qualifications necessary to train individuals to obtain the professional credential of CALT/CSLT.

As an instructor, Melody is approved to provide the following training, all of which were developed by staff at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children (SRC) in Dallas, Texas.
